“Dark/light the the fight continues. Fae ugly and beautiful, sexual to extremes, are coming out of Fairy. Barons is more of a mystery, evil or not ? He confuses Mac more, and she wants him, tension builds. Mac meets up with her "kind" and is disipointed. A sexy Scotsman enters to story and complicates it. The walls come down, darkness falls through the city, death. Mac is alone, no V'lane, Baron only darkness, and she is scared and taken.
I felt like I was driving 70 mph and hit a brick wall the way this book ended. Everything bad was happening then "crash" the next page was blank !!!! All her books do this but this one was the worst. I have to wait for the next release to release my breath.”
“I liked this one but sometimes I really just want to slap some sense in Mac. I am looking forward to the next one though.”

Look for "the Book", fight some bad guys, argue with Barrons (amidst some sexual tension), and resist V'lane. If there's no development and closure soon I'm going to have to give up on these. ”

I couldnt put it down. I have read that people dont like the ending...Well that is probably because they didnt see it coming...I know I didnt and it is left at a total cliff hanger. I cant wait to read the next installment.”

Yes | No“What's a girl to do when you have three beautiful men vying for your attention, promising you the world and much, much more? That depends on whether you can trust them and this is a position that I don't envy our heroine. As flattering as it is to have so many men after you, it isn't all that fabulous when it means your life. For our Southern Belle McKayla Lane, life hasn't been a gratifying game of courtship ever since she arrived in Dublin. After finding out that she is one of the most powerful sidhe-seers born, her life is forever altered. Months of living in Fae-infested Dublin has turned this fun-loving beauty into a fierce warrior to be reckoned with, fighting the evil that threatens the world while hunting down her sister's murderer.
Now the wall that separates human and Faery is gravely threatened and as All Hallow's Eve quickly approaches, MacKayla knows that the sands of time is running out and a showdown between good and evil is looming unless the powers that be are able to hold the wall. Is she ready to face the end? Who shall she ally with - V'lane the sexually lethal Seelie Prince, her fellow sidhe-seers or her mysterious mentor Jericho Barrons who refuses to divulge his real interest in the Sinsar-Dubh, the book that contains the ultimate power? Whatever her decision is, one thing remains certain - readers would be deliciously frustrated waiting for the conclusion to MacKayla's saga.
This latest instalment in Karen Marie Moning's Fever series left me hungry for more of our heroine and these supernatural creatures. While some questions from the first two books were answered, more questions were raised that I am now sitting here waiting for the next book to come out. The author works her magic providing a tasty spin to the world of fae, vampires and seers. As Dublin plunges into chaos, I found myself getting sucked deeper into MacKayla's world waiting for the final battle while also salivating for answers. Oh, the frustration that Ms. Moning puts her readers through! I was lucky to have read all three books in one go, but I have now joined a horde of other followers left deliciously tormented due to the tantalizing cliffhanger. Indeed, I am hungry for more but it appears that I am in for a long wait before this hunger is appeased. ”
“OK a small guide to the Fever World:
The first thing to remember when reading these books is you CANT just read the Fever series along. You almost have to read KMM's entire collection (and also know a fair amount of mythology, Irish and Scottish folklore, and then some!) to really truly appreciate and get wrapped up in this entire world. Some say to start with Into the Dreaming, but I say go for broke and read the entire collection. There are characters from past books that show up in these books. It will make more sense when you know who and what these people are.
Otherwise you're probably gonna be scratching your head and saying "Huh?" a lot.
The Fever series in particular IS a romance but its building up to that. You're not going to get passionate sex and undying devotion right off the bat.... Think of a steam engine building momentum before it becomes an iron rocket hurtling down the tracks. You shouldn't read this book JUST for the romance. You'll be disappointed naturally. YOU must have staying power and patience to get to the Happily Ever After.
The other thing to do(Shameless Plug!) is join the forum and meet all the fans and read their theories. Its become a cult with many of us. We take these books seriously and we take each other seriously. And we absolutely ADORE our author because she takes time out to talk to us, to send us teasers, and clear up any confusion.
Lastly, as for the ending of this book in particular..... it was meant to be a cliff hanger. The author, when asked, will tell you that this story came to her already mapped out, all the characters named, and she's just the vehicle. Any artist will tell you what that's like. To have a mental image of your masterpiece and there is satisfaction or rest until it is represented in minute exact detail - just as you see it in your mind. I agree though, when I read the ending I was ready to throw the bloody book across the room and scream at it! I did NOT want to be waiting on the edge of my seat until August when the next book is published. I wanted Mac to have revenge NOW! But what can ya do?
Hang in there readers! dont shun the next books because of the ending in this one! I honestly like this book the best out of the three so far. Barrons shows us some more of his personality. You learn important details. Mac changes and grows more and more in this book. When given the opportunity to run away and go home to hide she stays and she fights. She WILL persevere! That is Karen Moning's promise to us. That all the trials and tribulations Mac experiences will be rewarded 10,000 times over. ”
“Another great Fever book by Karen Moning! Has you interested from the get-go... My only complaint was getting to the end and realizing...it was the end! I thought I had pages and pages to go (Mac's journal entries, etc. were at the end)! I was not happy...Now I have to wait for the next one! :)”
