The premise of this story, of an adopted American girl raised by English parents and her process of self-discovery after finding her birth parents intrigued me. And I have to say, the story did not disappoint. While at times I found Pippa's emotional journey to drag in some instances, the genuine confusion she displayed as well as the realistic emotions displayed by the other characters lended a realness to a story that could have easily become a series of cliches.

I am putting this book aside by now. I chose to listen to it as an audiobook (I believe read by the author) and found the American accents just too hard to take. Maybe I'll pick up a hard copy of the book and read it. It seems amusing, but I just can't bear listening to it!
