Excellent book on values learned from his dad from a young boys point of view. Every dad should read these as a primer for being a successful dad

October book club book. I do not know why everyone did not enjoy this book like I did. Many described it as a Little House on the Prairie, but boy style. I loved reading about life on the homestead, the cowboys, the neighbors, the family struggles. I found my favorite parts were anytime Ralph was being disciplined by his father. Good book!

A great book to read to your kids. Especially interesting to children ages 8-10 interested in horses.

I'm forty one years old and hope that someday I will be half the man Ralph Moody was when he was eleven.

Probably the best book we've read as a family. An excellent story with so many great life lessons to go along with it. Highly highly recommended. I'm sure we'll read this one again, and are looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

My son and I quite enjoyed this book. In places, it was exciting and in others very moving. A good story about a father/son relationship!

A wonderful book. One of the top 5 Classics suggested for adults in "A Thomas Jefferson Education", it was actually written for children in grades 5-7. Great read-aloud on values for a family.

I really liked the father in this book. He didn't have any greater wisdom than the rest of us do, he just knew how to get through to his little boy. I'm always looking for ways to improve as a parent and so I learned a lot from Little Britches' father.
