The beginning is horrific- but I have a feeling it will get better- only on chapter 2 right now.

Not my kind of book, although I was interested enough to finish it. Took me a long time to read. I liked the love story/reincarnation angle and the "Lover's Tales" that were interwoven throughout the novel, but something just did not make me really like this book. That said, this might be one of those that I keep thinking about and then say, "hey, I DID like that". The last few pages were great.

Not my kind of book really and it took we quite a while to get through it. There were things I did like however. First of all, it was very well written; I just wasn't that fond of the story line. The book was many stories within an overall tale. The themes ranged from fantasy to the life horrors of a severe burn victim. The overall theme was one of fantasy and the imagination of the author deserves to be lauded.

Fascinating on several levels. The storyteller uses psychology and religion and at the same time casts out a spell binding magic to the mix .The information about burns is at times horrifying.Hard to believe it is a first novel. Enjoyed it!

A very moving story about a burn victim who finds love through the stories of a mentally ill sculptress. She weaves the tales of how they were lovers long ago and other tragic stories of love.

This was one of the strangest, coolest books I have ever read. It's very unique - I don't think I've ever read anything like it. It has something for everyone - it's thrilling, romantic, dark, spiritual, you name it, all in one package. Wow. I loved the author's style. His language is so clear and melodic, and he has a wicked sense of humor. It also made me want to read Dante's Inferno again, even though I never liked it much...A must for everyone who loves books!

Andrew Davidson has written such an amazing work of literature that...I can't even express how gripping this tale is. Just read it and you'll see.
