Cujo (Signet)

by Stephen King

Cujo is so well-paced and scary that people tend to read it quickly, so they mostly remember the scene of the mother and son trapped in the hot Pinto and threatened by the rabid Cujo, forgetting the multifaceted story in which that scene is embedded. Although I love dogs and this is a said book in terms of the dog dying, I loved this book. One of my favorite S.K. books the suspense and horro of the Mom and the kid being stuck in the POS car. Great, just great!

This book broke my heart, having had 2 St. Bernards as a child. I think the thing I found most intriguing about the book was that King told parts of the story from the dog's viewpoint--a unique perspective, to be sure. All in all, a real downer of a story.
