So, what's your favorite story in this collection?

I'm going with Children of the Corn. A town full of homicidal children following a bizarre perversion of Christianity? I like it. But finding out the malicious god they worship actually exists? Awesome.

I have found, in reading all of Stephen King's books, very few DON'T have gore in them. The Tower and The Drawing of the Three are a little softer on gore. the Langaliers, and The Stand also. You don't want to read Pet Cemetary or Cujo either. Skip

I loved this book. I've always liked Stephen Kings work and I personally found this book to be awesome! There is a lot of gore and just weirdness (Lawnmower Man, anyone?) but even then it's not that bad. His books just aren't for everyone.

Night Shift features King's early brilliance in the craft of short stories. The best stories here would have to be: Sometimes They Come Back, Strawberry Spring, Quitter's Inc. (unforgettable!), I Know What You Need, Children of the Corn (the movies didn't do this story justice), The Last Rung on the Ladder, and The Man Who Loved Flowers (BRILLIANT!). What do you guys think?

I agree. This is an excellent book. I especially like, Quitters INC. But all of the stories are good. King is a true master of the short story.
