The Alchemist

by Paulo Coelho

Like the one-time bestseller Jonathan Livingston Seagull, The Alchemist presents a simple fable, based on simple truths and places it in a highly unique situation. And though we may sniff a bestselling formula, it is certainly not a new one: even the ancient tribal storytellers knew that this is the most successful method of entertaining an audience while slipping in a lesson or two.... Vague meandering vapid exploration of how to find happiness. Wish I never picked this up. ( I really really hope the original isn't as bad as the translation, there must be a reason for this book's popularity!)

i thought the book was amaizing though there were unanswered questions. writer has used some beautiful phrases.
but if one read the book in hope of the new idea he must be disappointed as it is the same as many of the previous which states the importance of hope and dreams in one's life.
the sucess of THE ALCHEMIST proves that to make a book popular narration plays a far more important part than story.

Stop to smell the roses and you will learn of beauty.
I feel try to understand the meaning in each line. I calls for a lot of reading between lines. Sometimes many things skip your mind. It made me think a lot.
So I read it again. Just beautiful.
This was a life changing book. I gave me the only thing that matters in my life HOPE
It gave me hope in one of the worst time of my life and continues to inspire.
The story is a little too simple and meaningless for any who can finish it in an Hour or less.
But lets say fate is taking you through the same path.
Would you have the achieved all to laugh out loud or say I was not foolish enough to go behind a stupid dream?

Fate takes us to many steep falls and over large hills but without HOPE none can achieve anything.
