great book. I love his books how he can evolve a simple story into something more. And to have a strong character with Down's syndrome was a great catch.

A horrific tale of an alien invasion on Earth. With an examination of the psychology of what would happen if body-snatching aliens really came here, this tale will have you turning the pages in anxious anticipation of what will come next!

If you travel deep into the Jefferson Tract in northern Maine, you'll find the burnt out husk of the house that had once been Hole in the Wall, a hunting retreat for four childhood friends. Beaver, Jonesy, Henry, and Pete traveled here every year, no matter how far they were, for their hunting trip. But that year a stranger walked into their camp, incubating a deadly secret. Before long the Jefferson Tract would be under quarantine, and the four and one more would be in a desperate battle with the alien entity named Mr. Gray, and only the Dreamcatcher could save them. From the depths of Stephen King's shadowy mind comes a thrilling gorefest of aliens, infection, and psychological muttering that will keep you awake for hours at night, staring up at the stars and wondering, now with some trepidation, if there really is anyone up there.

It's not King's best book, but it certainly is an interesting one. It's sort of like reading a through the eyes of someone on a really long acid trip.

This book needed a serious edit about 2/3rds of the way in! In a rare case, the movie was better than the book (except for the ending?!) because the edit I felt it needed was made.

A long sci-fi journey that keeps you guessing. It's more than ten times longer than the on-screen adaptation.
