This book was boring and obvious. The author didn't even attempt to make the plot interesting and expained everything as she went instead of allowing the story to just unfold. The characters were all the same person and always KNEW what was happening. It was a dissappointment and I am also dissappointed that Robin Hobb said that it was worth reading.

This book was a slow starter for me, however I persevered with it and I am so glad I did. I hope it continues to be as good in books 2 & 3. It can be a little graphic at times but it jsut sets the scene even more vividly.

Great series about a magic, a young man unknowingly and unwillingly receives a gift and gives him the ability to live on in the bodies of the persons who kill him as he tries to accomplish his mission. Gives very interesting twists to the story and the characters in the stories themselves. Definitely recommend.
