Rapunzel set in the wild west. A fun story with a sassy heroin. Some pages had good art and some not. Overall I liked it but it was not as engading to me since it is wrote for middle readers.

What a fun book, full of spunk and attitude, but still with a sense of ... well, innocence, that makes it perfect for girls in the 8 - 11 slot. Rapunzel's story is familiar, but completely unique in this telling. She's been taken by the witch from her family because her father stole the Rapunzel (lettuce) from the witch's garden. But then after escaping from her tower, she meets a new friend Jack, and proceeds to try to get revenge and rescue her mother. Along the way, she discovers and proves her strength. Thinking about it, I really like the way she wants to demolish Mother Gothel not just because she's hurt Rapunzel, but also because Gothel has hurt so many other people. This Rapunzel is certainly a TAKE CHARGE kind of gal.

Fun book with a great strong female character. Good for all ages. Beautiful illustrations.

Rapunzel as a cowboy - it works! Looks like there will be more books about Rapunzel's adventures.

    Genre: Fantasy
    Library Location: Juvenile Graphic Novel
Setting/Time Period: A fictional place with
    several similarities to the
Southwestern United States in the late
    1800's.
Series Notes: The authors are working on a
    sequal to this book.
    Summary:
Rapunzel's Revenge is a fast paced graphic novel (I find that graphic novels tend to read really quickly.) that rewrites the story of Rapunzel of the long hair. The storyline makes Rapunzel a strong female lead who is able to take care of herself. The tone of the book is light and fun. It never really takes itself too seriously.

Rapunzel in the wild west. When she escapes (without anyone's help) from her tower prison, her face appears on posters: Wanted! Dead or Alive! In her quest to free her real mother from slavery in the mines and to stop the wicked witch from doing any more harm, Rapunzel helps to right injustice wherever she encounters it. She's got twenty feet of braids to lasso the bad guys and whip their pistols right out of their hands. Yahoo buckaroo!

A full colour graphic novel for all ages.

A must-read for all fractured fairy-tale lovers. Hale's Rapunzel, or "Punzie" as her love interest, Jack, calls her, is a kick-ass 21st century heroine who uses her long braids in a way the Rapunzels of old would never even consider. Needless to say, she doesn't wait for any rescuing - she rescues herself from Mother Gothel's tower and proceeds to exact a revenge every reader can savour. This is the best Rapunzel rendition I've ever read. It is a graphic novel, which is a genre I do not love, but it works really well here. Nathaniel Hale (no relation to the author) captures the essence of our sassy little trouble-maker in such a way that you really understand what makes her tick.

    It's a quick must read.

    Excellent story! Excellent illustrations!
This book(in graphic novel form) gives a new twist on the Rapunzel we've all come to know. She seeks to rescue her mother that was taken from her as a child and with the help of her long braids(grown over a period of 4 years) and her new friend Jack(from Jack and the BeanStalk), she gets her revenge on the woman that separated her family. Great book for any fairy tale lover! Read it! You'll love it!

Interesting book. I enjoyed the visual novel aspect of it as well as the retelling of the Rapunzel tale. I like strong females who stick to their convictions, but aren't always sure where they are going next as it is more true to life than the know it alls. I too think Shannon Hale rocks.
