  • Louis de Pointe du Lac ("the vampire"): Young French-born plantation owner in New Orleans, Louisiana. Becomes a vampire after the mysterious death of his brother, because of suicidal thoughts and Lestats greed for money.
  • Lestat de Lioncourt: Louis and Claudia's creator. Passive, money-hungry, and "boring". Preys on Louis's emotions.
  • Claudia: Five year old girl who's mother died of the plague. Louis fed off her and left her for dead; Lestat and Louis's 'daughter'.
  • Madeleine: Parisian dollmaker. Unhappy woman who had lost her daughter. Claudia wants her to be her vampire mother.
  • Armand: A 400-year-old vampire, who lives with his coven in "Théâtre des Vampires". He will travel across Europe with Louis
