- Mississippi Beaumont: Mibs is the main character of Savvy. She turns thirteen and gets her savvy. Mibs' real name is Mississippi.
- Fish Beaumont: The second oldest Beaumont, whose savvy controls wind and water. He's fourteen.
- Rocket Beaumont: The oldest Beaumont, whose savvy is electricity. He's seventeen.
- Samson Beaumont: Mibs' younger brother. He's quiet and is usually hiding under something. He's seven.
- Gypsy Beaumont: The youngest Beaumont. She is three.
- Roberta Meeks, Bobbi: Daughter of the pastor of the church Mibs' family goes to. Her real name is Roberta. She's sixteen and is defiant. Typical rude teenager.
- Will Junior: A slightly goody-goody boy around Mibs' age. He is a member of the pastor's family as well.
- Lester Swan: Drives a bus delivering pink Bibles. Lacks self-confidence and speaks with a stutter.

- Carlene: Gets Lester his job selling Bibles through her brother. Lester has a tattoo of her name on his arm.
- Poppa: Mibs' father.

- Bobbi Meeks: The rebellious daughter of Pastor Meeks. She is 16 and has a crush on Mib's brother Rocket. She accompanies the Beaumonts on their journey to Salina Hope Hospital.
