I've recently been engaged with the idea of my sphere of influence. My nearest and dearest dwell within the center of that sphere, and in the outlying concentric circles lie those with whom I am acquainted, but to a lesser degree. I found this to be overly alarmist and sensationalist. "OMG TV will kill literacy!" is really very dated, and only serves to show the book's age.
