When we first moved our son into the house, he was 10 1/2 years old and was in foster care. We later adopted him. One of the ways I showed him we cared was by reading to him nightly. We got into the Redwall series, and we both were hooked! The animal society and the idea of a very fierce...

I am disappointed in this book. The writing is fine, nice use of vocabulary and the story is clear. It's just that it's boring. It is all too predictable. There is no true character development and not even any interesting characters. They are all cut out cliches.
Maybe I expected too...

A wonderful, triumphant story of woodland creatures who band together and protect their world of peace and acceptance.

Great fantasy tale about woodland creatures from england. Very descriptive, especially when it comes to food (so avoid reading while hungry).

I thought this would be boring. It turned out to be really awesome with a great story and cool characters.

Redwall is an interesting book. It's different from many others I've read. Somestimes, in the book, the main character was somewhere besides where the main action was, and I felt like I couldn't keep up with the story. Also, at times, I thought this book got rather boring. as nothing interesting was going on. Though it has a few faults, in some ares, it does not. Redwall, for the most part, is an action book. Brian Jacques is very good at describing fighting scenes and such. Overall, I liked this book okay, though I probably wouldn't recommended it.

Maybe I expected too much since this series has been so well touted.

A lot of people had been nagging me to read this and I caved in. I'm glad I did. There was a reason that everyone was telling me to read it. I enjoyed it thoroughly and read a lot of other books in the series before I decided that there were just too many. This one was still the best of them all.

These were my favourite books as a kid, I devoured one after another. Good times.
