Right next to Hero. I don't care who you are - this book is absolutely hysterical.

my copy is signed by the author, who i unfortunately did not get to meet. It looked interesting so i thought what the heck and started reading it. This is a very funny story about a 16-year-old boy's coming out story. the main character is on a quest to prove he's absolutely, positively NOT gay. after all, anyone as observant as him would HAVE to notice how handsome the assistant coach for the hockey team is... after that, even if he WAS gay, who would he talk to, his parents? his best friend Rachel? All in one fabulous, hilarious book for gays and straights alike.

This book opened my eyes to seeing that it is okay to be gay. It allowed me to no longer have fantasies, but to have experiences.

This book was alright. Not the greatest representation of gay fiction that I've read. But I suppose it was worth reading, when I was in the process of coming out.

This book is about a boy who thinks he's gay, but he isn't sure. And ends up taking a golden retriever to the school dance..... It is a comedy and i liked it! I would recommend it to anyone!

this book was really good. I think that it really showed the reader how hard it is for gay teenagers to cope with that. it was a really funny book but at the same time was really serious it touched on a real issue and made it into something that people can enjoy and not be scared away i loved the book

Aside from the fact that I can't really relate to the story of a teenage boy coming to terms with the fact that he's gay, I really enjoyed this book. LaRochelle divides the story about equally between Steven's growing realization that he's gay and his process of coming out to his friends and family. Although the first half of the book became a bit tiresome after a while, the second half of the book more than made up for it. LaRochelle writes Steven's coming out scenes with humor and sensitivity.
