Slagar the fox hates Redwall Abbey--its peaceable creatures, its fearless mouse warrior Matthias. And now, he is embarking on a terrible quest for vengeance, cunningly stealing away what the Redwallers most cherish: their young. And the greatest prize of all would be Matthias's headstrong son, Mattimeo. But the babies are tough, and they plan to fight back. After all, they're from Redwall. Also, Orlando The Axe is after him, leaving behind his wife, who Slagar murdered.

  • Great Hall: A great hall just outside Cavern Hole.
  • Cavern Hole: The dining room. A huge room with doors leading to Great Hall, the wine cellar, and the kitchen.
  • Mossflower: A huge woods that surrounds Redwall Abbey, and go on for miles.
  • Malkariss: A sunken city led by Malkariss, a huge statue of a white polecat. Nadaz, Voice of the Host, keeps everything in order.
  • Loamhedge: Where Abbess Germaine, the founder of Redwall, once lived. Her, and the remaining Sister's and Brothers, left due to a great sickness. The location of Loamhedge has been lost.
