“Surprised and entertained me till the very end. The Gentlemen Bastards' wit and sarcasm had me stifling laughs while reading. I also enjoyed the interludes a lot, especially with its foreshadowing. But ultimately, it was the depth of the plot that got me hooked. Great world building too, very detailed and picturesque. One of my favorite reads of the year.”

The author prefaces each section by an "Interlude", which is a flat out description/backstory of why the character will act the way he will in the "present". And it works. The story itself focuses on a con artist, his team and how they survive in their society from authorities both legal and not. The scams are outrageous, the danger is circling and escape is near impossible.”

You can tell that the author is a role playing guy with this angle on theiving. Even if you don't like theives it's quite interesting and has a dark humor which I like a lot!”
