“The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao became a marvel in the end, but not after an uncoordinated and lengthy middle that did little to enhance the story but much to enhance my own boredom, in addition to the Spanish and plethora of fantasy, science fiction, anime, and comic references which made the book unaccessible and difficult to understand. Overall, I thought this book was tedious, but I maintain that the book was, objectively, somewhat wonderful indeed in the end. ”
