Quotes edit see section history

  • ““I reckon not, Pappy.” This is said by Danny to his pappy, because his pappy asked him if he was going to use his dog Red for hunting. This happens on page Page 148 of the book. I chose this quote because it is a perfect example of how differently the characters talk in the book.”
  • ““a big lynx or catamount” this was said by a man named Ross who is Danny’s dad this is interesting to me because at first I didn’t know what a catamount and I actually had to look it up.”
  • “Mr. Haggin says “I told you he was magnificent” then Danny says “he sure is” (page46). I chose this quote because it is the first time that he sees Red and this is what really sparks the whole book”
