“Like I said before, watch the anime of this. Love it!”

The first book in the series was a lot more attention grabbing, and it seemed to have more underlying content. This book had a much lighter content, and not as many surprising plot twists and things like that. The story is pretty good as a stand alone, but comparing it to the last one it lacks something.
This book starts off similarly to the first, with the main character standing alone in the snow, feeling depressed. Then the story jumps to another perspective in a whole different world (the jumping about in the plot is a little confusing.) This is the perspectives of the priestess of the guardians of the king. In this world there are twelve kings, each king has a magical guardian. However, the priestess is upset, because the newborn guardian has gone missing. They look for him, but are unable to locate him. Then it jumps twelve years forward. This is where the story really starts. The priestess figure out where the guardian has gone, and prepare to bring him home and train him. Meanwhile, the protagonist is starting to feel more and more like he doesn't belong.”
