I found this book to be quite insightful. Many of Aimee's remarks mirrored my experiences and thoughts. I especially like the K-N-T chart strategy to use with up and coming student writers.

I think this book has a lot of helpful information in teaching different strategies for my fourth graders. I love the idea of having your kids purchase a notebook that "calls to you." :) I made a BEST and WORST list to get ready to model for my kids. I'm on chapter 2 now...

Thorough overview of the components of the Writer's Workshop. I appreciate Buckner's succinct and honest appraisal of the process as it takes place in her classroom. I'm anxious to incorporate this into my own classroom.

There isn't a lot new here, but I love the quick lessons sprinkled throughout the chapters. Easy to use "today" with the kids, and good, sound ideas. Sometimes writer's notebook books make me think, "These activities will go over with the kids like a lead balloon," but Buckner's lessons are solid. And this book helped me reconsider how my classroom will be set-up next year, which is great.

A practical presentation of how to use the Writer's Notebook ala the author's style.I thought it was extremely help. Many good ideas. I intend to share some of the ideas with my faculty, but reading it would be better because I think it is all useful.
