I have never read anything by this author before but that is all about to change now. This book was fabulous. The story was incredible- so imaginative and intriguing. The characters were wonderful, fully developed and believable. One of the best books I have read.”

Lou has a secret from Kyle; Kyle has a secret from Eden; Ben has a secret from Eden; Matt and Katie have a secret from Kyle......so many secrets and they come out slowly and bit by bit........
This book got better as it moved along. Eden is a famous actress who comes home to Lynch Hollow in the Shennanhoah Valley to spend the summer with her uncle, who feeds her mother's journals to her bit by bit (Eden's mother Katie has passed away years ago). The journals hold the secrets to Eden's heritage.
Eden falls in love with Ben over the summer; Ben is a man who was convicted of molesting his young daughter but it is so obvious that he is innocent.....or is he?
Diane Chamberlain has always been one of my favorite authors. Her books were the type that I could not put down. The last few I read weren't as engrossing to me. I almost stopped reading this one around 1/4 way through, but I'm glad I didn't. It was interesting with great characters and a solid story line.
This is one book where the secrets don't destroy the characters. Everything ends up the way it should (in my opinion).”
“another cracking book which keeps you wanting to carry on reading. The events where not what I expected when I started reading it so all the more enjoyable.”

I just thought it was so sad, lot sof sad characters and storylines. And I always find it hard and disturbing to read about the heavy topci of child abuse/molestation and it was very present in this book. I felt like Diane threw everything at all the characters when she could have just kept it more simpler. The journal part was a neat way to incorpate another character, but again this character just made me sad. ”

Main character is actress Eden Riley who is the daughter of a famous deceased children's author, and recluse, Katherine Swift. Eden decides to return to her childhood home to research and write a screenplay about her mother in hopes of dispelling the notion that her mother was a kook! There she learns about her father and meets Ben, an archeologist working on the site where Katherine Swift lived.”
