“A dark twist on a classic fairytale. Sleeping Beauty set during the Holocaust. I enjoyed this dark, adult version of a story I thought I knew so well.”

No other book about the Holocaust has ever intrigued me as much as this one did. Although there are a few things that would've helped me like it better. One thing is the swearing. I hate swearing, so I would prefer this book be a little cleaner. Another problem was one of my own personal hates, and that is one of the characters, was gay. I would have preferred they not involve homosexuality. :P
But all in all, it was a pretty good book. I suggest it to anyone who needs something to read for an assignment, but is more of a fantasy/fiction addict. Like me. :) ”
“An amazing, heartbreaking tale of a woman who uses the tale of Sleeping Beauty to explain the beginnings of her life to her daughter and granddaughters, hiding the horrific tragedy she might not fully recall. Cunningly crafted and expertly written, I highly recommend this to all. ”

The Sleeping Beauty/Briar Rose fairytale is retold as a family story about an extermination camp survivor in World War 2. As the story unfolds the Sleeping Beauty metaphors are ghastly and thought provoking, and come together to create an original tale of horror, survival and even love. Very worth checking out.”

If you have an understanding of the holocaust, that part it is a difficult read.”
