A wonderfully different mystery novel with characters of depth and life. I love the authors ability to sculpt a character paragraph by paragraph. I felt I was there. I will read her other book, In the Woods, immediately.
I also found this book a very different mystery. Hard to put down, the characters were so interesting I wanted to know what they were doing! I read IN the Woods shortly after and plan to read her 3rd coming out soon.
So you read The Likeness first? I picked it up without realizing it was a second book. I've started it but I wonder if I should read the first one first.
Does this book bring any closure to "In the Woods" because I was pretty disappointed with that conclusion.
If you mean do they solve Rob's childhood crime then no. It's not about that at all. It's a completely different story.
I really liked this book (as well as her first one In the Woods). She's great as describing these characters in full and really making you attached to them. However there's something about them that always leaves me unsatisfied at the end. I don't know what it is... That's why I can't give them 5 stars, only 4. But I do plan on reading her other one that just came out. I was really hoping it was going to be about Sam though, I love him. Oh well.
I loved this book and would have loved the chance to join this group of friends and move right in with them.
Tana French is terrific.
