I was biased, being that I already loooooooved Anderson, but this book was excellent - even better because he actually had the talent to write it himself, without a ghost writer. And man, be prepared for some serious honesty, which I appreciated to no end and related to as well.

A year in the life of Anderson Cooper (2005) with a little bit of a "frame" around the story describing his childhood (privileged), family (tragic) and early career (bold). Sort of interesting. Horribly depressing. Cooper is a disaster junkie. He sees more dead bodies in a day than a mortician. He should probalby be on suicide watch.

An honest portrayal of his early pains against agonies of humanities. Heavy reading not meant for everyone.

I found this sucker on the street, and read it maybe 5 years ago. Its actually really stuck with me- I appreciated how frank he was about his privelege, and his brother's suicide, and how he traveled to war zones in an attempt to find something to match and mask his own despair. I can't remember the disasters at all, how awful is that, I guess they just all blend together, but I do remember how broken he was, and how he found somewhere to fit, as tragic and sharp as that is.

Tough read as you learn about the hard side of wars, conflicts, and hurricanes.
