Here's something to think about. Ever bet the farm or your last dollar on someone you thought would never leave? This was such a sure thing that the word failure never came up in your mind. What would you do if it happened? When your heart shatters into a million pieces and falls right through your toes and into the dirt. What would you do?
When we left Bella she had a prom dance with Edward and everything was close to normal for a vampire and a regular girl. I know some of you think that Edward and Bella took huge gulps from the same bottle of corn syrup before they spoke to each other it was "too sweet for words", but they were in that special place and I'm sure there are a few of us who wound up with someone we thought were way out of our league and thinking back wondering if we swooned way too much for our own good. Where love is involved nothing is impossible.
New Moon is every bit as good as the first book, Twilight. Bella doesn't go on a drinking spree when Edward leaves, doesn't find God or even dye her hair she just puts one foot in front of the other and soldiers on like a ghost or zombie. A few side projects that lead to a friendship with Jacob Black starts and things drift back a bit to normal until Jacob begins to run with a gang, but is no replacement because your other half is still gone. Good heart felt writing in this book - like when Bella says she is a moon orbiting around a planet that no longer exists and being in love only gives the other person the power to break your heart. Oh I could go on but that would spoil it more for you if you want to read this book and oh yes expect a few surprises and a cliff hanger ending too. It's a great read and the next installment can't get here quick enough.

First i would like to say that this book was great. It's true Edward was not their for most of the book. He was only their in the begining and then again in the end. But all in all, it was a great book.

In the book Bella is at a party that the cullens through for her 18th birthday. She gets a paper cut and Jasper attacks her. After this Edward desides that he is to much of a risk in her life and does nt want to put her in danger so he and the rest of the cullens leave.

After this Bella's life turn upside down. And starts to have a friendship with Jacob Black. And her life starts to get better. When she realizes that she can hear Edwards thoughts when she is in a dangerous situation, she does the most life threatning thigs.

I don't want to spoil the ending, but let me just say this, for all the fans that only read Twilight for the love story between Bella and Edward. You wont be dissapointed in the end. TRUST ME!!!
I'd dump Bella too

I hated this book and wanted to punch most of the characters in the face.

Judging from the other customer reviews, that's apparently the minority opinion. My caveat is that I read New Moon without reading Twilight. Maybe if I had, I'd feel more attached to Bella and invested in her romance with Edward. As it was, I found her self-involved, immature, ridiculous, and worst of all, not even vaguely interesting.

Anyway, so Edward leaves town and Bella feels very, very, very, very sad. That sentence sums up about two-thirds of the book. The rest of it is actually an okay story about a cold war between vampires and werewolves and an uneasy truce that's formed after a rouge vampire comes looking for revenge. But that storyline sputters out every few pages so Bella can remind us that she misses Edward very, very, very, very, very much.

One of the few characters I liked was Jacob Long, a werewolf Bella befriends after Edward splits. Jacob has conflicted loyalties, a layered personality, and facial expressions besides mopey. On the other hand, Edward is very, very, very, very, very, very beautiful, so of course, Bella ditches Jacob to rescue Edward from committing suicide.

At this point, I started to envy Jacob. I still had to spend another 140 pages with her.

Like I said, maybe if I went back and read Twilight, I'd get what everybody's raving about. Instead of gambling another 15 bucks, though, I think I'll just go read Blood and Chocolate again.
New Moon...I love this series!!!

A Kid's Review
Could you ever be in love with Count Dracula? In Twilight, the first book in this fantasy series by Stephenie Meyer, Isabella Swan does just that by becoming madly in love with Edward Cullen, who just happens to be an immortal vampire. They spend an inseparable year together, but in New Moon with many near death experiences together Bella finds the Cullen family leaving Forks, Washington and her forever. So to make up for the "hole" Edward left in her life, she spends her time with Jacob Black. Jake and Bella attempt to do destructive things so she can "hear" Edward, but when one stunt doesn't go as planned Bella discovers the vampire clan and her beloved Edward racing back in to her life again.
If you have read Twilight then I highly recommend New Moon. I enjoyed the way Stephenie Meyer pulls the reader in and keeps them hooked, this found me up many nights just waiting to see what would happen to Bella on the next page. If you are a teenaged girl with a knack for horror or love stories read New Moon and you will find yourself falling for a modern day Count Dracula.

This book is an amazing sequel to Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer. This novel includes werewolves and vampires and sucks you right in from page one. My students in my class fight over who gets to check out the book next. A MUST-READ!
