“Read in 2008-2009. Audiobook read by author. Humorous yet honest look at women of a certain age who are either looking back on their lives or forward to the rest of their lives and decide to step out of their comfort zones and live a little. Heartwarming and honest, this book touches on universal themes in a woman's life. With characters that could be the next door neighbor, a best friend or the reader herself, this book will give you pause, make you laugh and strike an honest chord with the listener. ”

I thought there was some funny lines, but for the most part the stories dealt with heavy issues - death, weight loss, overweight children, growing old. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind, but I really had to push myself to even get through this one and just kept thinking of the books on my shelf that I WANTED to read. ”

Today we all live in a world in which there is so much pain and drama within the world and in our personal lives. This book helped to serve as sort of a literature type of affirmation for me. This book helps to reinforce the notion that it is OK to not always take life and everthing in it so seriously. The woman who wrote this book had been through a lot and she fianlly got to the point where she could just laugh at life and be secure with herself.
No matter how much life can suck at the moment, negativity and misery is always temporary. Life is what you make of it and this book has reinforced my feelings of positivity and the fact that it is OK to just do things for yourself once in awhile. ”
“Loved it. I don't usually care for short stories, but this was a lovely collection.”
