I can picture it becoming a movie with Matthew McConahay (however you spell his last name!) as Andy and Jennifer Aniston as Ellie. Nothing I would pay to see, but a nice story none-the-less! A nice summer/beach read!” see full review » see other reviews » |

“"love the one you're with" tells a story about a girl, Ellen, who has a perfect relationship with her husband, Allen. They were married for exactly 100 days, when Ellen sees her first love, Leo. All the feelings came rushing back to her, though she hasnt talked to him in years. Her and Leo began talking, and because of the lingering feelings for Leo, she starts to question on if her marriage would work or not. She begins to get close to Leo again, and when Allen finds out, he wants her to make a decision that could change everything. Stay with him and have a perfect life, or run off with Leo and not knowing if they'll last. Ellen finally realizes why she married her husband. She also realizes that her & Leo ended there relationship for a reason. Why go back to something that wont last? She tells herself to Love the one shes with. and thats exactly what she did. ”

I enjoyed this book very much & think most women will be able to relate to it. On the other hand I did find it a little dragged out.”
“I enjoyed but at the same time I was bothered by this book. I sorta expected the book to be what it was but even knowing that I only read fast because I wanted to be done with it. I probably wouldn't have snagged this book up on my own if I hadn't had to read it for my book club.
The lead female really irked me. I understood where she was coming from but I felt like she threw blame on other people rather than realizing that some of the situations and her feelings were strictly due to her behavior rather then her in-laws. I don't think that they would've loved her less if she had at times spoken her mind. She let things progress too far before realizing she had to change the situation.
As for her ex-lover coming back in her life I think this shows us all a simple rule. Just tell the husband. Had she told Andy originally there never would've been such a huge build up in her mind. Even if she was still working out her reactions/feelings to Leo's return it wouldn't have been so all-consuming, at least in my opinion.”
“oh my gosh, this was a quick read! Kind of like watching a really GOOD chick flick. I think I cried while reading parts of this!”

Very cute, very romantic, and pretty true to life.”
