I can picture it becoming a movie with Matthew McConahay (however you spell his last name!) as Andy and Jennifer Aniston as Ellie. Nothing I would pay to see, but a nice story none-the-less! A nice summer/beach read!” see full review » see other reviews » |

“In some ways this well written novel is a train wreck as you read Ellen's actions, thoughts, and decisions, but it was hard to put the book down.”

Unlike other romance novels where the main guy is essentially perfect, this novel had flawed but very realistic characters. At first, I got annoyed at the characters for being selfish or inconsiderate or whatever but in the end, I appreciated the realistic portrayal. I really loved Ellen. Her sometimes doormat like personality annoyed me at first but I came to love her despite that. That flaw in her character only made her more real to me which in turn made her more likable. I'm not really sure whether I liked Andy or Leo better because as it was said in the book, they were so different on so many levels that it's hard to even compare them. I wasn't bored once and I really loved the humor throughout. Great book. ”

It seemed she was acting like a teenager, not being able to "get over" a guy who treated her crappy at the end, but whom she shared an "intense" relationship. Then I began getting disgusted with her husband, Andy. By the end, I liked them both again and enjoyed the way she wrapped it up. I didn't expect to give it 4 stars but the end made it worth it.”
