“I picked this one up because I loved All the Pretty Horses so much. And this one had me going for a while… a man stumbles across a dope-deal gone wrong, takes the cash, and runs… so a deadly killer tracks after him in order to get the money back to it’s rightful owner. But I became real angry when about ¾ of the way through the book, the “final showdown” between the runner and killer was left out and the next part is the sheriff identifying the body of the runner in the morgue! Where’s the action? Where’s the resolution? Then the end of the book just continued with the sheriff’s ruminations about how this country has just gone to shit… just like this book.”
