    Well-written but depressing. Very stark.

I liked this book, but I couldn't finish it because it was too dark.

This books played on every nerve in my body. There were a few times I yelled out loud, "Over Already", and then in the minute after I was right back on the road with them.

I read a bit of this book when it first came out and I could not sit still or get into it.

This time although I did not run down the road, I walked behide them watching everything and listening for every sound of someone else out there.

The story is of a journey of father and son, and even without name or place they grow to your heart....they are alive and real as each page turns....

The end for me was tearful, and joyous.....

A great read, now I can go see the movie!

After the first few pages I almost stopped reading it. I thought the style would be way too wierd for me, but as I got into it I got used to the writing, and lack of punctuation, and really enjoyed it.

After a while I couldn't put it down.

It is very depressing for sure. The whole way through I was hoping for a bit of a happy ending for the father and son, so the end left me wanting. The story, if you can call it that, is just a tiny snapshot in a much greater picture of what came before and what then comes after for the boy. Alot of stuff is left unsaid. Maybe that is the point though, to just focus on the father son relationship.

I wanted to know how the world ended and maybe a bit about their lives before this event. You are not even sure how long ago this event happened.

It is definitely one of those that some will love and some will hate. I tended towards loving it. I'm still thinking about it alot.

I couldn't put this book down, although it is a dark topic the reader rides along the edge of lost world awaiting salvation with the characters.

This was a very short book, and it was written in a weird style that somehow worked really well. The story was very simple, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it tells the story of a man and his son struggling to survive after the world has ended.

    I enjoyed it.

Definitely a gripping, engaging and bleak (oh, so terribly bleak) tale of a father and a son "migrating" in a post-apocalyptic Earth. I think it is a bit over hyped. I liked it a lot, don't get me wrong, but for some reason it was not as good as I hoped it would be (I have not seen the movie).

First, even though the story is great, it's a bit too flat. There are not that many exciting moments (but when there are they are great). The book and characters literally plod through the first 150 pages or so. Second, the author's choice for not using punctuation is a mixed bag. I think it works great for conversations, since they sound as terse as they would in real life, but for descriptions and more complicated "action sequences" it doesn't really work at all (for me).

Finally, there is never any context or explanation to how the world ended up being as it is. Which, granted, is probably irrelevant to the tale, but it would have been great to know how the dad and son survived the initial aftermath.

All in all, a great read, it is definitely hard to put down after page 150. It just wasn't all I was hoping it to be.
