Cormac McCarthy seems to believe the darkness in man all too often prevails, or maybe that men underestimate the power of their darker impulses, which, once released are overwhelming. This is a bleak book, with some riveting scenes that will stay with you. If you haven't read this author before, you might want to start with a different book -- No Country For Old Men, maybe, or All The Pretty Horses.”
