“After reading both of Allen's books I love her writing. This book was good however I felt like it really didn't finish and the last pages went by really fast. That's okay I loved the book anyways and I love Allen's character Josey and Chloe. Chloe's amazing and one you read this book I think you'll love her too. ”
“interesting book, almost finished. lots of surprises.”
“I didn't enjoy this book as much as Garden Spells. I can't wait to read her next one which has been delayed until 2010. ”
“Charming book, full of humor and modern-day fairy tale magic, with characters that you can actually like. I'm definitely going to check out Garden Spells in the future.”
“Allen's books are different. This one has possibilities, but not the humor of the first-Garden Spells. Enjoying it.”
“This is a story of secrets and forgiveness. The characters are wonderful: Josey with her secret closet that is loaded with candy and sweet snacks. Della Lee who shows up one day to live in Josey's closet. Josey's mother Margaret who won't forgive her daughter but who wants her help every day. There's wonderful Chloe who has a great relationship with books and won't forgive her boyfriend Jake. All of this within the first chapter! Each chapter is named for a candy: Everlasting Gobstoppers, SweeTarts, Lemon Drops, Rock Candy, etc. Read this book if you like a book "brimming with warmth, with, and a sprinkling of magic. . .a spellbinding tale of friendship, love and the enchanting possibilities of every new day." (from the back cover) Like Garden Spells, this has very nice cover art! Sarah Addison Allen has a great talent.”
“Love this book!!”
