“I've been wating for this book! It may come sometime in August. There are several strings to tie up, and the stage is set, but I don't think Allison will get too predictable. Sometimes the last book is like running down a hill, you just check off all the big and little resolutions. Of course I want to hear all about our protaganist, does she master herself, and the difficult talent? what about her brother who discovered so much in the last book? who is the crow? and what will become of the teacher? what of the manipulative mountain man? and what will be the fate of the elidhu (sp?) but most of all, I am waiting to enjoy the process, the unraveling of stories with twists and surprises and sudden obstacles when the way seemed clear. Her prose is always diverse and capable, sometimes luxurious without being indulgent. I hope she will continue to delight us, and not get too carried away with romatical tension & nonsense. Miss M. may be of age, but the adventure & terrible challenges have pulled us in, and I hope to see them all learn to fight the good fight first. One thing I appreciate very much is that this series seems to be driven by the transformation and growing understanding between two siblings who met each other late in life.”
