An esoteric book on an esoteric subject. It is a gem of a book, with pearls of wisdom strewn all over its 250 odd pages. More than a travelogue, it captures the journey of the exiied Dalai Lama and his beloved people. The author's lifelong assocuiation with the spiritual emissary is the subject matter of the book, but more than that the ethical issues are dealt with evocatively.
