    Cute

I was at wally world late one night and as I've said before in one of my past post, I always visit the book section when I go. Anyway, I already owned pretty much everything on the shelves (which wasn't a lot because we were out in Oak Cliff and if you don't get it, it's because you don't live in Dallas lol) but then this book caught my eye. The cover is amazingly beautiful! I absolutely love the stars and the sprinkles. The name was also a real big reason why I got the book in the first place because I have a younger sister named Cindy so I thought it was a little ironic. It's been months since I've got the book but as soon as I finished it, I do have to say it was beyond amazing! The characters were so hilarious! Cindy Ella hates everything concerning prom, India and Malcolm are her two best friends who stand next to her when her letter to the editor goes wrong. The best thing I loved about this book were the various references to the late John Hugh's movies, like `Sixteen Candles', `Pretty in Pink', oh and they also mention `Sleepless in Seattle'. Anyway at the end of the novel I was smiling like there was no tomorrow. I was definitely impressed with how it turned out. I give this novel 4 out of 5 paws.

    Confused

I'm 12 years old myself, and this is what I don't get: she's 12 years old and doesn't want to go to prom. Why is she worrying about prom when she has to wait 4 or 5 more years?

    This book is awful

I could not get in to it and it had some much sexual insinuations and launguage that I could not finish it. This book is not suitable for teens at all. I was also very dissapointed with the story it was terrible. I would not reccomend this book to anybody!!!

    Cindy Ella

Cindy Ella is one of those books that's actually incredibly difficult to judge. The Cinderella re-telling has been done to death, but the fractured fairy-tale fanatic in me thought this one was actually pretty good, although I'm not entire sure Cinderella was so ridiculously shallow. I was hooked from the very beginning, thinking that Cindy was going to be this awesome hippie activist standing up for the little people, but while reading, this view changed quite a lot. While she says she's an activist, her actions didn't exactly go along with her words, and I found India a much bigger activist than Cindy could ever be. India goes to prom, while Cindy does not, and yet, India really doesn't come off so balloon-headed. Cindy claims to be anti-prom, but then she goes falling all over random guys. For all those YA books out there that are about independent strong girls, there really is an awful lot of flirting in all of them, and this certainly seems to follow that pattern. I found some parts of the book to be dreadfully predictable, and others just plain dreadful (the reveal of BklynBoy's identity falling in both categories), and the ending just didn't do it for me.

A Funny and Hilarious Retelling of Cinderella

This is a hilarious take on the Cinderella fairy tale. And by far, this is my absolute favorite version of this story. This story starts with the letter that made our heroine, Cindy Ella Gold, into a pariah in her high school. Despite being an outcast, she kept up her good spirits and you really wanted to root for her. The story was nicely paced and some parts made you either laugh or smile. I really liked the characters. They were hilarious and you couldn't help but love them and wish secretly that they could be your friends too. Also, it was nice and refreshing that the author didn't make the stepmother and stepsisters mean and evil. I absolutely adored the hero and loved the way they got together in the end. This is an absolutely must read. I could read this book over and over again and it would still make me smile.
