“I just finished reading THe Middle Moffat and discovered that it is a heartwarming book. Jane Moffat is now the exciting "msterious middle Moffat". It is very nice how Jane helps Mr. Buckle (the oldest citizen of Cranbury) to reach the age of 100. As you can see, Jane's life is far from boring since the momment she told Mr. Bukcle that she is the "mysterious middle Moffat" until the end of the book. You will have lots of fun as Jane continues on her exciting life.”

“Old-fashioned book I read with my kids when they were age 4 and 8. I had to explain some of the language to them. They didn't know about the "man in the moon". I guess the moon isn't mysterious to kids anymore! I don't think they would have stuck it out and read it themselves but it was nice to sit together every night for a week or so and read together.”

“Not a Newbery Honor by today's standards. There are a lot of gender stereotypes. Also, the vocabulary is very dated, many words are things we don't use anymore due to technology. May be tough for readers born after 1990.”
