Interesting story of the life of Lynn (Buck) Compton. His journey through life - a young boy in Hollywood, high school in LA, UCLA sports, D-Day, an LA policeman, District Attorney, and Judge in California. Definitely an interesting biography.

This book was definetely one of my favorites! Has anybody seen the HBO TV miniseries, Band of Brothers, if they have, this is a must read! Lieutenant Lynn "Buck" Compton, who was a 1st lieutenant in Easy Company, the company recounted Band of Brothers, wrote this novel, as a biography of his time in the war, his time as a child, and his time as a Los Angeles Prosecutor, namely, the chief prosecutor of Sirhan Sirhan, the murderer of Robert F. Kennedy. I would recommend this book to anybody who has an interest in war, history, or conflict. This book was probably the best book that I have ever read!

I appreciate all of the material coming from the cottage industry associated with Band of Brothers. Compton does well telling the story of his military service and then his life after service. Less appreciated is his political posturing -- I imagine he has earned the right to be heard -- I'm just more interested in his military service and wish to look elsewhere to find out about all that has been messed up in America.

Good book with additional insights to the amazing company in World War 2. Downplays a few things and straightens the record on a couple things in the mini series that were "wrong", not in a sense of accuracy, but Hollywood took some liberties.
