There is a character in this book that reminded me so much of someone I knew in New York. I even wondered if perhaps the author knew him as well. She at least knew someone much like my friend.

Wow, it´s the first time I´ve read Candance Bushnell and being a fan of Sex and the city I had certain expectations, this has to be one of the most boring and shallow books I have ever finished YIKES!

I like this one much better than the other of her books. The characters are more sympathetic, and the plots flows together better.

This is one of the first books that I can actually say that I HATED. As I listened to the audiobook to and from work, I found myself making faces at stoplights, scoffing aloud, and making other disparaging remarks as I listened to the story unfold. It was just enough to keep me listening (it was slightly better than the radio commentary); yet, I found myself loathing almost each and every character. At the very least, One Fifth Avenue was not the read for me.

It ended kind of abruptly. The plot was pretty fun though.

433 pages Interesting lives of those who live at One Fifth Avenue. Apartments that sell for $20 million, apartments as big as a closet renting for $3000 a month. Buying $8000 leather jackets.....and happiness doesn't follow. Some new rich just reach further, those who don't make it scheme and scrape to just be near the rich. The building has a feeling of a village within the city.

This was a bit different for Candace Bushnell... but not by much. She's huge on relationships and we've mostly seen female interactions. While this one by no means lacks that, I also enjoyed the men's POV. You almost want to say, C'mon Candace, can't you write something different? But then... it wouldn't be her, would it?
