In the introduction of Flight Plan, the author relays that during the course of the average flight the plane will be off course for 99% of the time. The pilots are constantly doing course corrections and adapting as needed for the conditions so that the flight will make it safely to its destination on time. It’s a sobering fact that relates well to business.

No matter how hard we try, we will find ourselves faced with challenges that need to be addressed. The longer we ignore or deny the problems, the more trouble that we make for ourselves in the end. Therefore, it is imperative that we are willing to admit our mistakes, make the appropriate course corrections, and keep our destination in focus.

Flight Plan looks at the reality of business. It’s so easy to get caught up in denial or blame when challenges arise. Yet, inevitably such things will occur. It’s far more productive to just get on with the process.

A great book to read and greater methods to be implemented. i guess goal setting cannot get clearer than this. The author believes in taking actions rather than merely thinking new thoughts.
