This was a five star book. If you like books that are different, then you must read this book. It is about a boy who moves in with his aunt and her two daughters. He becomes the like of the town until one day when he dissappeared. Once he dissapeared, he was everywhere.

I liked how it brought attention to discrimination of gay people, but some parts were slight boring and irrelevant.

Wow! This book was not what I expected. I knew that there was a gay character in it but I didn't realize that it would also include murder, sexual assault and the death penalty. I believe that Lecesne won an award for first novels and I can understand why. He masterfully wove a great many stories into this one amazing novel. I particularly loved the description of the ladies at the salon and how flamboyant Leonard was.

I thought this was a well written novel of teen angst, but I don't think I would have read it if I would have known that the story was about the murder of a pre-gay boy. Then the whole death sentence dilemma seemed too contrived and preachy to me. I

i loved this book! it was about Phobe's cousin Leonard coming to live with them after Phobe's dad left them. Leonard is well... different. He is gay and the people at school don't really like it. Leonard however, had brought alot of life and brightness to the town and changes people. Phobe also detests Leonard and just wished he could be normal. One thing that really stands out to me still from this book is that while everyone is giving people suggestions on how to change for the better he nevers says anything to Phobe. Angered she yells something along the lines of why don't you suggest anything to me? am i that far beyond help? Shocked Leonard replies with there isn't anything i want to change about you- you are my role model. Unfortuntly, the light cannot always be there and in Leonards case the darkness triuphs his brightness and brings Phobe to care more than she ever thought possible.

I thought that this book was ok but not the best. I thought that it was a little slow and there was like a gay boy and like a regular family. It just didn't go well together. But it was a good book.
