“In a way this autobiography should be given top stars, because he does a top job of delivering to his fans a story that they would find very witty and entertaining. I am not a big fan, but I think he has a lot of talent and can be really funny sometimes. I also find him an interesting person.
What I like mainly about this book is Russell Brand's self-knowledge. He knows his strengths and weaknesses. There are just some things that strongly creative people have to struggle with. He comes across as speaking honestly about his life, from being spoilt by his mum and nan and not getting the discipline he should have received from his father, to the problems with drug and sex addiction. Very down to earth, sincere, and sometimes delivered with an adolescent-like verve.”

Yes | No“Russell Brand's biography raised a lot of doubt in me first: Should really an artist as new as him be able to write a book about his life, and get away with it? But after reading My Booky Wook, and discovering not only how human Brand really is, but also how similar he is to myself, I can only conclude that I love it. And that I'll never read it again.”

Russell manages to write in the exact style of his spoken voice, and his cheeky, edgy humour shines through. It also highlights that this is an intelligent, if somewhat troubled young man. A portrayal of a somewhat disturbing life, yet perhaps somehow inspiring and always humorous in a wonderul way.
If you like him, you'll like it. ”
