I read this back to back with Leon's Quietly In Their Sleep (I believe that was the title). I was disappointed by the similarity of wording in places (practically quotes) between these two books. I didn't have both books at the same time because I borrowed them from the library so I couldn't compare. Did anyone else find this to be the case?

Agree 100% with pirjo s. Didn't keep me interested in what was happening, as well as what was going to happen. Not up to what I expect from Donna.

This was a rather pessimistic Brunetti - somehow the story didn't get going as usual, but the case of the drowned Romany girl was so hopeless and depressing that making a swinging story out of it would have seemed really cruel! We met lots of Brunetti inner world, which is always interesting, but found out some very sad facts about nomadic people of Europe, always on the move.
If you already are a fan (I confess!) do read it, but if not, don't start meeting Brunetti from here...
