“In a rich suburb of Atlanta a mother comes home from her tennis game to find a young man with a knife standing over her daughter’s bludgeoned bloody body. In the minutes afterward she strangles the young man to death with her bare hands. What begins as a double homicide soon has an added crime – kidnapping and as Georgia Bureau of Investigation Detective Will Trent looks into the crimes as a favor a maze of crimes appear with a missing teenage girl and killer on the loose. With the clock ticking everyone is scrambling to find the two before the teen is found dead. This gripping mystery is well written and populated with complex characters with equally complex lives. I look forward to more by Slaughter.
MYSTERY SLAUGHTER”
“One girl is found murdered and the other abducted. a mother rushes home to find the supposed killer and kills him. Will trent and his Atlanta PD partner are challenged to find the real killer and kidnapper of the girls. I liked this story but as I hadnt read triptich the first of the Will Trent series I missed his back story. I enjoyed the book and it was a real page turner”

It was by far one of the most... grittiest murder mysteries I have ever read. One thing that amazed me was that everything seemed so complicated, and it turns out that it was actually pretty simple! Yet it's not frustrating at all, the writing was fluent so it's an asset rather than a hindrance. The action was not much, following along the lines of the investigation like watching an episode of CSI or Criminal Minds.
I especially loved the main character, Will Trent. He just seemed like a... good guy, yknow? All considerate and nice. That's not to say that he's perfect. (I don't know what the fascination with perfect is.)
If you're in the mood for a no-holds-barred mystery, pick this up! Or Triptych. I'm only a few chapters in, but this is turning out to be better than Fractured in my opinion.”
