I think I liked the first book better but I still found this to be an enjoyable read. It was darker than the first.

I liked the first one, however unresolved angst only goes so far before it starts to become too soap opera-ish. I paused reading it about half-way through, then my mother (the librarian) told me it was way over-due. I skimmed to the end and round the rest of the book rather tedious. Original ideas only last while they're original... The unresolved twist of boy not always getting girl started to feel a bit generic

It's probably like Holly Black's books, with each book she introduces new characters while previous ones take a step back...but eventually they come together as more books are added.

In all of fairy folklore fairies are very sexual, up to no good, mischievous, wicked things! I've never known them to be otherwise!
