I really loved this book. I'm actually going to go out on a limb here and say that it's one of, if not the best, YA book I've ever read. It's not really for the faint-hearted (it's raunchy and is probably the edgiest YA novel I've ever read) but I loved how honest the characterization was, and...

I saw a preview for “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” in the movie and instantly thought ‘I HAVE to see this’. I saw the movie when it came out and it was better than I thought it would be. A few days later, I learned that this was originally a book and knew that I had to read it. In normal...

This book was a very cute love story. Although, it is is extremely unrealistic. two people meet in a club and fall in love looking for her drunk best freind as well a cool undergrounds band called "where's fluffy" they find her friend and the band. but Nick and Nora decide not to stay and have fun

I loved this book because it was so different from the movie. It had more of the characters thoughts and feelings. There were much more events and interesting characteristics about each moment of their night.

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist is the ultimate teenage love story. From the beginning it is evident that this story is going to unfold as a scene from a dream.

The events in the story make you hope that there is a love for someone out there like the love and friendship found with Nick and Norah. I think this book would be very popular with high school teens, especially girls. Teenage girls tend to always look for the perfect love story where two people meet and fall in love.

This book has very harsh language, but creates a sense of the scene the teenagers are involved in. Nick is in a band called “The Fuck-Offs” so off the bat we realize that the language is going to be intertwined into many of the conversations being had. For some teenagers, this can be their normal speech when they are out with their friends. Many teenagers will not be taken aback by the amount of times profanity is used and once into the book, the reader takes it as part of the language of the culture.

Nick, Norah, and many of the other characters are out late into the night. Being from Iowa, this isn’t something routinely found for students in our area. The fact that this book takes place in New York City shows what the difference of the atmosphere is there versus here. Nick and Norah travel to many different parts of the city where trains and cabs are running all night. This part may be harder for teens to relate to if they have been in a smaller community their whole lives. Reading about their adventures from place to place almost seems like a fantasy because that is not something available in this area, as most places are closed by 2AM. However, not ever being up and around past two, there may be some “underground” spots I am unaware of that teens in the area frequent. If that is the case, they may find a connection with the travels of Nick and Norah.

Overall, the story is about two people coming from long-term hurtful relationships into a new “five-minute fling”. The best part of this book is the setup. Each chapter alternates from the point of view of Nick and Norah. The even chapters being from Nick’s point of view and the even chapters being from Norah’s point of view. The story seamlessly moves between the two characters thoughts and feelings, providing for a unique read.

The emotions each of them feels while finding out what the two of them are to become are real and easy to relate to. Norah finds it hard to trust Nick and many times during the book thinks that she’ll just leave him wherever they currently are. Many times she acts impulsively and immediately decides that was the wrong decision and gets caught up in the thinking behind decisions instead of the impulses which guide her. Girls may find it easy to relate to Norah as she is always second-guessing every move she makes. As a teenager, I remember thinking though every decision and analyzing if what I did was the right choice.
Nick on the other hand starts the book out still completely in love with his ex-girlfriend and finding it hard to focus on much else. This is also a scenario teenagers may find it easy to relate to. When one person ends a relationship, the other person is many times caught off guard and finds it hard to let go of what once was. Sometimes, even going as far as trying to “win them back” and we see Nick’s thoughts on this as he continually sees his ex-girlfriend.

Excellent, funny, sweet, and fast-paced. Great for anyone over the age of thirteen, I think, because of the moderate swearing (much use of the f-word).
