Bounced around a lot and at the end of the book, I was left thinking, "What was the point?"

Wow, this was a strange but fascinating book. It took me a long time to get through it actually, partly because my life has been fairly busy for the last couple of weeks, but also just because the book was full of flowery, descriptive language and sometimes it takes me a little longer to get through that. The main character in the book is Maggie, a single woman who one day takes a magazine quiz that is supposed to predict when she will die. The final question is "Are you happy?" to which she answers "No", because as she says....she's not completely happy. The result is that the answer "No" takes years off her life. The book is a bit disjointed at times...there are things that the author spends too much time on, and others that I believe she should have talked about much, much more. But it definitely got me thinking, and it has made me question a few things about the way life works. Anyway, it was a deep and thought-provoking book. I think next I'll read a book that's a little less work!! I need a break!

I read this last year and remember enjoying it while I read it, but the story didn't linger with me long after that. I do remember relating to the feeling of being the middle child trying to hold it all together.
