“Mary DiNunzio is a hoot...I love her character and the Italian family...some of the things the Italian family does reminds me of my family.

Scottoline always writes great mysteries...I have read a few of her book and love how she keeps Mary and her family in them.

I enjoyed this well enough, mainly for the hilarious secondary characters, since the lead, Mary, didn't float my boat, although there's nothing truly wrong with her. I enjoyed Scottoline's portrayal of South Philly's Italian neighbourhood, an ethnic group I generally don't get to read much of.
One thing totally puzzled me, though, an I spent about 200 pages trying to figure out why the writer would have done it: for those 200 pages, she neglected to give the name of a major character, and instead simply referred to him as "he". Then all of a sudden, she gives the name, and all the characters start using it.
Huh? Did I miss something?
Other than that, it was okay. I wasn't enough in love with her to read another, but it was fine, all the same.

“This was the first book I read of Lisa Scottoline. I then went to her book signing and met her. She as great! I enjoyed the book, it was fun recognizing the places and streets in the story! I can't wait to read another one of her books. ”
