This is the story of Jarvis Miller, a woman whose famous artist husband has been in a coma for six years. She's spent most of these years sad and alone until one day she meets a group of new friends. After all this time she must now make one of the hardest decisions someone can make. Part One of the book kind of drags, but about 100 pages in, it really picks up the pace. During the entire book you wait for something specific to happen, and then it ends. Filled with witty quips like "a whirling dervish of words," good food, great clothes, and even better sex and scandal, this is book is an interesting read.

this book was strange. parts were really good but overall not my favorite. im glad that everything at the end happened naturally instead of being forced.

Well written with a great central character. Doesn't really kick into gear until very late in the book.

Although the book is well written, I found it hard to get into the story. The characters were all unlikable and the ending is forced, all the ends too neatly tied and made into a pretty bow. Overall, the premise is good and the story moves along at a good clip, and I don't feel I wasted my time. Definitely a good read but not one I would recommend to a friend

I really like Jami Attenberg's writing. She's very good at putting a lighter spin on dark topics without compromising the weight of the story. I also appreciate her sarcastic humor.
