Let me amend one my comment here. Of course, the bashing will continue, we are all entitled to our opinions including those that suddenly hate me for stating mine. Let me just say I still respect Stephenie Meyer as a writer, she does do an excellent job at bringing you into her world. I still like the series, I'll probably read it again in the future. I just don't happen to like this book so much and I HAD to read it to know that. That being said I wouldn't discourage others from reading it if they have read the other three. You have to finish the series and form your opinion. And now my original review:

Ever since I started reading this series I felt kinda childish for liking it. I mean it is what it is...YA Fiction. However, no matter how immature I found most of it, I was addicted. I got sucked into Bella's world and could not escape. I completely understood the negative comments, though. Well now with Breaking Dawn I'm just downright embarrassed. Sure we all want a happy ending love story, but come on...life is not perfect, choices have consequences, and EVERYONE doesn't always live happily ever after. Yes, I understand it's a fantasy book, but everything just came out too perfect.

**SPOILER FOLLOWS**

Also, I do not like being able to predict the books I read. I like to be surprised so when I knew the "baby" would be okay and then when I knew Jacob would imprint on it and then they both happened, it was just disappointing. So finally when there was bound to be battle I was getting somewhat excited again and then...BAM!! Nothing. All that work to lead up to this enormous battle and it doesn't even happen. Wow.

HUGE SPOILERS!!!! I agree with you. I knew that she would have a baby and that Jacob would imprint on HER and that there would be this huge thing with the Volturi at the end, but I also knew Bella would "have to be turned" in order to save her...all this I knew about 10 pages into this book! That being said, I still enjoyed reading it and was sorry to see it end...now I am reading grown up books again! LOL

I agree with you. Apparently you can't post a negative review about this series without a backlash! Wow. Wasn't it convenient how Bella just happened to completely skip the whole "newborn vampire" problem? I expected a happy ending, and I don't mind predictable books sometimes. Meyer just didn't give us much suspense on our way to the happy ending in this one.

I definitely agree with you!! Why spend a good amount of the book getting ready for this fight that doesn't even happen? It just seemed like Stephanie Meyer got lazy at the end and rushed everything together. I expected way better. :/

Don't read the book then. I had no idea that Jacob would imprint. If you have something bad to say about a book then you shouldn't say it because it makes others not want to read it.

i agree with celeste g, your review was just overly judgmental. and what do you have against a happy ending? so what if it was predictable, it was still fantastic. you just dont get the whole awesomeness thing.

“I agree with you. And Celeste G, I don't think it's fair to flame at someone who is just stating their opinion. I think anyone can read what they want, hmm? I thought that the book made every other vampire/love book ever written look bad. I thought it was simply disgusting. I also thought that everything in the book was expected. I thought the birth of the child was a little too over detailed, and if that movie /ever/ comes out, I really hope it's rated R. ”

I do completely agree with your summary. I think the author has a real talent for making readers feel emotions, but I found this to be a disappointing ending. Being a vampire is way too easy. She made the reader feel how difficult it was in the first book, which was very inconsistent with the last. I was waiting to find out vampires did have souls, and that some or all would find redemption. It's YA, true, but the last one wasn't as good as the first.

wow. you know if ur just going to be negative about the whole thing maybe you shouldn't read the books!! you people post these reviews then complain about the books.whatever. by the way, a happy ending, that's what makes a good book. if you want to be all pissy about it go read a different saga!! why don't you back of Stephenie Meyer for a minute and realize that she is an extraordinary author and that you need to stop knocking her books. whatever. go read some Stephen King or something, that sounds more like you anyway. oh yeah and don't act like you wouldn't go see the movie anyway. ]=(

I also was disapointed by the ending. All books have their good and bad parts. That doesn't mean somebody shouldn't read a book because there are parts they don't like. Its great that some of you loved the books so much that you feel so protective over them but please calm down and realize that different people have different reactions. And I think it bothers some of you more then Stephenie Meyer who probably accepts that not everyone will love her books.

One thing I can't stand about most (note that I said MOST, not ALL) Twilight saga fans is that they can't take the negative comments about it themselves and spend most of their own comments telling others to shut up and don't even contemplate about what you're trying to say. When I read Breaking Dawn, I was totally ticked off about the "perfect" ending too. And this is what most Breaking Dawn defenders miss: it's not that we don't believe in happy endings and we're pessimistic, or that we want doom and sadness. This ending just came without any REAL sacrifice. And the non-existent battle WAS a real let down when it was built up that there was going to be one. It even had that whole, "This is it" scene at the end of that one chapter only to have it be, "You know what, let's compromise" instead. It's like the climax was building way up and then just took a nose-dive off a cliff and hit rock bottom. That's not genius, that's just sad. And a lot of people go on about Bella being so self-sacrificing and so on. It is pretty much given that any heroine in a book that gets pregnant is gonna be willing to die for her baby. That's just one of the heroic qualities. But it's a given. It hardly counts. Other than that, what else did Bella sacrifice? Because last time I read it, it sounded like she wasn't too concerned about having to leave her family. Yeah, she thought about it, but she decided that being with a guy that wanted to eat her was worth far more. But it's not even about Bella having to sacrifice. NO ONE sacrificed anything for this book, and that's not exactly realistic. With great choices come great consequences. Bella made the decision to become a vampire, but she had none of the backlashes. Edward decided to make Bella his number one priority, so far as to put his own family in danger, and everyone came out fine. There's also the question of biologic flaws in the series, such as baby Renesmee. If venom is all that flows through a vampire's body after the transformation, then that is all that should be there. Not to mention sperm can't survive in a dead body for over a hundred years. It just doesn't happen that way. So the birth of Renesmee doesn't even make sense biologically. And yes, some of you will argue that it is Stephenie Meyer's vampire universe and she can do as she pleases. I agree to an extent. She can make her vampires how she wants them, but she also contradicts herself. She also chose to set the story in a semi-realistic setting, modern day America. Thus, the biological rules of modern day science have to apply. The VAMPIRE UNIVERSE is all that she can fully control here. And by the way, to the people who said this person shouldn't have read the book if she didn't like it, here's the catch: Maybe she didn't know she wouldn't like the book until AFTER she read it and the damage was already done. It's not like it can be, "Okay, I read this book and I didn't like it so I'm just gonna go back in time and not read it." That's how it is. You read a book and you keep reading it, hoping it'll redeem itself, only to be utterly disappointed. But you can't change the fact that you've already read it. It defies the laws of physics. Though I guess with all the defiance of physics and biology Meyer has drilled into your brains, you might think it IS possible.

I disagree, i think that it was not a predictable book at all. It also DID NOT come out perfect Jacob freaking imprented on the baby how gross is that i hate Jacob and Bella can never tell Charlie or Renee the truth. Eclipse is still my fav out of the entire series but Breaking Dawn is almost a tie. As far as the whole choices have a consequence thing all of Bellas choices DID have a consequnce she had sex w/ Edward and almost died giving birth to Renesmee, becuase of that the Voultri came after here becuase they had the wrong idea about Renesmee wich caused this huge battle that DIDNT happen BECAUSE the plan they put together to have witnesses watch her grow worked. How can you be dissapointed the battle didnt happen OBVIOUSLY their plan worked so there was no need for a fight i was relieved when they didnt have to fight and i thought the suspense Meyer built was amazing. Breaking dawn is a wounderful closure to the series i disagree 100 %

I totally agree with you! I feel like her whole series lacked substance (then again it's a teen novel but nevertheless!). And I don't think you want 'gloom and doom',but I'm guessing you wanted something more realistic too! Don't get me wrong, I loved the series... but honestly, it was just a cheap beach read with no more substance than a magazine article. The books I read for class this past semester made me ashamed to read this garbage... and half the ideas Meyer's ideas were unoriginal and quite predictable! My biggest complaint about the series though is the plot structure. She builds everything up during the last half or so of the book and then in the blink of an eye everyone's problems are solved like magic. Well, THIS ISN'T WIZARD SCHOOL STEPHANIE MEYER! EVEN HARRY POTTER HAD HIS CRAP TO SORT OUT! IT DIDN'T GET SOLVED OVERNIGHT EVEN WITH HIS MAGIC! Just had to get that out. On that note, Twilight is not the next Harry Potter, rather a poorly written thrill consisting of completely flat/static characters.

I read the book also and everyone is entitled to there own opinion.. The book is fiction and I am sure alot of people would have wanted it to end the way it did --- It was Bella's story in Stephenie Meyers eyes and the story portrayed unconditional love no matter what the obsticles were even if it was a battle that didn't occur-- it just goes to show that the main character (Bella) stayed through all of it no matter the consiquences, she fought for her family regardless if they were vampires -- she was the winner at the end of HER STORY.

Thank you! The whole everything just came out too perfect is exactly right! SM said she likes happy endings, and she surely made sure that this was the most perfect of perfect endings. Bella didn't have any consequences. She got to keep everything and everyone that SM made us believe she'd be giving up. I personally love the 'if you don't like it, don't read it' attack. Really? How can someone decide whether or not they like the book unless they read it? Especially since most people that read BD liked the series up to that point, they obviously are going to read the last book. The 'get over it' attack. Really? Why don't all the lovers get over it themselves? It obviously bothers them that people have differing opinions than their own, and it upsets them. How mature is that? Thanks for your review. It's nice to know that there are people out there that can base their like or dislike of the book on legitimate things other than 'SM is a literary genius' and 'it's her story & we have to accept it the way it is'. Thing is, she's not literary genius, and just because SM wrote it, doesn't mean it's good or has to be accepted the way it is. SM messed up with this book.
