“My least favorite of the series. I realize it was a setup for Skin Trade but I could have lived without it.”

It took me a long time to get into the story, and when I finished the book, I couldn't help but feel that it was somehow "unfinished". IMO, there were too many loose ends that were never properly tied up.”

This one wasn't my favorite to be sure, but there was a little bit of story between all the sex and mind-rolling.”

Where it was nice to see his background and family, it was a mundane or Hallmark setting. The Anita Blake plot didn't really start until half way through the book, and then it felt almost rushed through the dramatic scenes. I like the story, it was good, it it felt like there could have been more. I'm eagerly waiting Skin Trade with Edward.”

I love the Anita Blake series but for a while there it seemed like a bunch of erotica and less story line... and there is awesome story line usually so that was dissapointing! But this book and the one before just go to show that Laurell can still write a good story with out all the sex. I would recomend this book”
